Laundry Day

We're visiting a new church today, and the service isn't until 10:30, but since my body is trained to wake up at 7:00 on Sunday mornings, I got up anyway and did some laundry.

I approve of laundry. I like doing it. I think it's an example of successful mechanization. What do I mean by that? Well, the whole point of mechanizing a job is that it gives us more time to do more important things. Unfortunately, I think that much of the time, when we mechanize something, we actually end up wasting the time we gained by doing something less important. But, with laundry, I don't think that's the case. When you go to a laundromat, you can't just leave, you're stuck in there watching clothes wash... and so you read, you talk to the other people around you... you spend your time doing important things, things more important than washing clothes or watching TV. I like that, so I approve of laundry. Of course, I don't do my laundry at a laundromat. I do it at home. And, right now, while my clothes are washing, I'm blogging. Maybe more important than washing clothes? Eh. Jury's still out on that one.

But, in general, I approve of laundry.

  1. Me too.

This post is so circular. Laundry helps us to have more time to do whats important . . . like talk about how laundry frees up time to do what's important. :P
