Our Joy

Our Joy is in hope not ignorance, not in denial, withdrawal, but in renewal. It is in a belief that after this present darkness a dawn will come, a faith that everything hurtful and hateful will one day come to and end, a willingness to acknowledge the reality of pain, but also a trust that one day everything which is good and beautiful and lovely and true will one day be the only thing which we will feel, then, and forever. This is our Joy, not a blind behaving as though everything is all right, but a passionate conviction that the hurt we feel now will pass away, that misery, though real, is temporal. A conviction that all things shall one day be made new. Not that everything is all right, that would be a lie, but that, one day, everything will be all right. This is our Joy. Our Joy is Hope.
