Peter Pan is a tragedy

With shadow in tow and accompanying glow
Peter Pan makes is flight, second star to the right
To hear stories
About princes and pirates, dragons and brave knights
About sorrow and laughter, true love and "happily ever after"
Told together
Story finished, Wendy tucks Michael into bed
Out go the lights, leaving Pan in the night
With fading memories
Having witnessed the thing, that he cannot bring
himself to believe: joy of community
And so Pan is alone forever.

  1. Mm. I'm not sure if I love this because I love Peter Pan, or because I love your poetry, or because it's just, interesting. But it's some mix of the three.
