The worst thing

We thought that things were bad
that we'd seen the end of the curse
We thought we'd seen enough
that thing's could not get worse

We though the world was far too full
to carry any further woe
We thought the fight we watched occurring
would stop after it came to blows.

We thought we'd seen the end of pain
endured enough to last forever
We thought that though we're breaking up
we'd manage to keep it together

But the worst is yet to come
what we've seen amounts to naught
Before the fight we're fighting ends
the worst has too be fought

Yes, the worst is yet to come
when all men on earth go mad
Before the good can triumph
it has to die to kill the bad

Yes, the worst is yet to come
when men say life is void
Before our hopes can happen
all our hopes must be destroyed

But, the best is yet to come
when evil fades to memory
When resurrection meets us
and death recalls the tree

Oh, the best is yet to come
though is comes through sorrow
When darkness fades and new light shines
upon that far tomorrow.

  1. Wow. Favorite line: "Before our hopes can happen all our hopes must be destroyed."

    I really like your poetry.
