Tied

I'm faced with resistance
I can't prove my own existence
My faith in reason has me tied.
Faith is hard to prove
And my faith took that abuse
And, my faith in reason has me tied.
I can't find the questions
That point in the right direction
My faith in reason has me tied.
Faith and reason are in
A seeming contradiction
My faith in reason has me tied.
I want soul insurance
Some form of reassurance
But my faith in reason has me tied.

(This poem describes an idea I was struggling with a few months ago; the paradox of faith and reason. I'm still not entirely sure I've figured it out, but I'm no longer at the point where "my faith in reason has me tied.")
