race for the cure

Every drink we take is laced with poison, when death is sure
but still the human race is in a race to find a cure

Every step we take, every second that goes by
brings us ever closer to our demise

You fight death and you fight symptoms not disease
There's no denying that we're dying by degrees

Everybody's looking for a way
to never die but never change

What they told you was a lie
if you want to live you have to die.

I am crucified
not I but Christ

I am dead to sin
He dwells within

The crux to finding out the cure
lies in the crux and nothing more.

  1. I never know what to comment on your poems because they mostly leave me in quiet conviction.

Also, I thought this line was clever: "There's no denying that we're dying by degrees."
