Nanowrimo

That's right everybody, now that June is almost over, it's time for me to start gearing up for nanowrimo!

But, Micah, isn't it cheating to start five months early?
Not if I stop five months early.

Why now?
Because even though I have play practices three nights a week, two VBS's that I'm working at, school left over from last year and a potential job opportunity that would mean a one and a half hour commute every day... I'm nowhere near as busy as I will be in November.

Why are you posting it on your blog?
Because I need help keeping accountable. I've heard that if you tell everybody you're going to do something, you feel bad if you don't do it. That's what I've heard anyway.

Do you even know how to write a novel?
Nope.

Don't you care about the quality of your written works?
Would I be writing this if I did?

Touche. Can you say that to yourself?
I don't care.

And that's basically all there is to it. I'm going to attempt to write a 50,000 word novel this July. If you notice a decline in the number of posts that show up here, that should explain why. If you don't notice a decline in the number of posts here, comment and tell me that I should be working on my book.

Oh yeah, and in case you're curious, I don't really have a plot. Just a main character. His name is Edison. Not sure on a last name yet.

  1. I'm not an expert on NaNo or anything, but as a three-time participant I feel somewhat qualified to commend you for being well on your way!

Plot are overrated. The one time I had a plot before I started I didn't get past 17k. That might have been because May is an awful time to write a novel, but yeah. Good luck!

  2. I disagree with Hayley, plots are good. Though the more detailed the plot, usually the worse. Micah, I am super excited about you doing nanowrimo!
