Wal-Mart

Everybody lies to make themselves look good. Standing in the checkout line at Wal-Mart, the LCD screen plays an add in which all of the employees are beautiful, intelligent individuals in their mid 30's. And 80 year old woman scans my items and a stoned teenager bags them. The screen is a lie. I know people that work at Wal-Mart, they're nice people, but they aren't models and they aren't genii (or geniuses if you like it that way, grey/gray)

It's like the add I've seen, where they show you the process by which an advertisement photograph is created. They start with a nice looking person... do a huge makeup job, hair job, then shoot, then photoshop to make her neck longer and eyes bigger and a bunch of other stuff. "No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted" and no wonder our perception of truth is distorted. Hitler said, "If you make a lie big enough, and tell it often enough, eventually people will believe it." and it is being witnessed every day. It seems like nobody cares about the truth, and as an ultimate slap in the face, they call it relative, not themselves.

  1. Too true, too true. I always wondered about that. I'd think "there's no way the actually work at wal-mart" :P But...is it really a lie for them to talk about how awesome walmart is, even if they're an actor? I suppose it must be at least a form of manipulation.
