As a rule, I usually get things all wrong or all right. Usually, I'm either in the right place, at the right time, doing the right thing, or I'm in the wrong place, at the wrong time, doing the wrong thing. 7:00 was completely different.

A friend of mine from both robotics and theater, Katie Hammes, is going away to college at Grove City this fall. The cast from the summer theater plays wanted to say goodbye to Katie, since we wouldn't be seeing her for any more plays, so it was decided to host a surprise party. The surprise party would be held at 7:00 at the home of another cast member.

So, at 7:00, I was at that cast member's home. With a bag of pretzels to share for the party, and a going away card for Katie. I did everything right, I was in the right place, doing the right thing, and the right time... or so I thought. As I shortly found out, I was exactly on time, twenty-four hours early. Yeah, 7:00 on Sunday, no Saturday. Ouch.

I guess life is kind of like a game of Set, you have to have everything right to win.

  2. I hope she doesn't read your blog, or it won't be a surprise anymore.

  3. And then you couldn't make it to the actual party?? Micah, you were sorely, achingly missed by all who attended. Don't ever do that again.
