Why do people fear to be forthright? Is it some twisted apprehension of being offensive themselves, or a perverse delight in holding grudges and revelling in critizing? Perhaps, the root of all backstabbing is the fear that, if confronted, the offending subject would repent, thus leaving the offended with nothing to broil over and nourish their needy self-esteem. ~Sarah Fiore |
